Our Responsibilities

Project Opening

Ika South Local Government supports the growth of individual businesses by providing an enabling environment for hospitality entrepreneurs. Through policies that encourage investment and streamline business processes, the local government aims to boost tourism, create jobs, and stimulate economic activity within the region's hospitality sector.

Market Renovation

Ika South Local Government embarks on a market renovation project to upgrade infrastructure, improve sanitation, and enhance the shopping experience for traders and customers. This effort is aimed at boosting local commerce and creating a more conducive environment for business growth.

Women Inclusiveness

Ika South Local Government champions women inclusiveness through various initiatives aimed at empowering women in leadership, business, and community development. By promoting equal opportunities and supporting female participation in decision-making processes, the local government is fostering a more inclusive and progressive society.

SME Empowerment

The Ika South Local Government has pledged to partner with the farmers focused on fish farming to support local entrepreneurs. This program aims to provide training, resources, and financial assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the fish farming sector. By promoting sustainable aquaculture practices, the initiative seeks to boost local food production, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth in the region.

Fighting Insecurity

In recent times, we have been facing challenges on security as people and as Government of the day, it’s our responsibility to ensure that necessary actions are put in place to curtail any form of these challenges.

Road Construction

The Ika South Local Government has commenced the construction of a 1km road with a width of 15 meters on Abude Street, Agbor. The project includes the installation of dual drainage systems on both sides to enhance water management and prevent flooding. The road will extend from Abude Street and terminate at Imudia Street, significantly improving connectivity and easing transportation within the community. This initiative is part of the ongoing effort to boost infrastructure development and improve the quality of life for residents in Agbor and the surrounding areas
